HOT•STOP®1500 High Rise Fire blanket

Firefighters are faced with severe conditions and dangers when attacking today's high rise building fires. Modern materials add to the fire load and often the fire floor is beyond the reach of a hose stream. Firefighters can be faced with an even greater danger if the fire floor widow has vented, resulting in a "blow-torch" fire.

The blow-torch effect is caused by high winds pushing the flame back into the building via the vented window. The extreme heat conditions can be seen on this thermal imaging camera image. To reduce the blow-torch effect, high winds must be kept from entering the fire floor. The HOT•STOP®1500 High Rise Fire blanket does just that. Industrial Energy Products, Inc. has developed the High Rise Fire blanket in conjunction with the FDNY, leaders and innovators in progressive high rise fire attack tactics.

The HOT•STOP®1500 High Rise Fire blanket is easily deployed from above the fire floor. Chain pockets are sewn into the bottom hem of the blanket to ensure a seal against the building drop after drop.  High strength/high temperature support straps are sewn into the vertical hems with double reinforced stitching for durability. All hem intersections are further reinforced with steel rivets for extra high strength connections.

The HOT•STOP®1500 High Rise Fire blanket can also be deployed from a ground ladder via chains and hanging hardware.

The HOT•STOP®1500 High Rise Fire blanket folds into an easily transportable unit, small enough to store anywhere on your fire apparatus or in the high rise building itself.
