Fire deaths are almost completely preventable with fire safety plans in place.  Both your home and your office needs to have a safety plan in place and everyone needs to know what to do in the event a fire breaks out.  Both your home and office need to be armed with fire extinguishers.  Fire alarms need to be installed and should be checked regularly to make sure the batteries are in good order.

Fire safety drills should be done at least once per year to reinforce what everyone needs to do in the event a fire breaks out.  You can use this anniversary to take the opportunity to check your smoke and CO2 detectors.  Go over with your staff or family where you should all meet to know you’re all safe.  Remind your children the sound of the smoke detector so they know to leave the building.

Fire safety can save your life, and it shouldn’t be ignored.
